i have a 3month old panther who has only been introduced to fruit flies and crickets. yesterday i bought other feeders such as bean weevil, phoenix worms and horned worms. i bought the smallest worms i could find at the expo but thinking they may be too big. theres 2 or 3 about an inch long are those too big?

Hornworms grow extremely fast and get very big. If the worm is thicker than the space between the chams eyes, I would not feed it. Also, if you have reservations it's prob too big. I have had to pull worms out of a chams mouth because they were choking, not fun and can be very harmful to the animal

thought the wider than eye thing doesnt really apply to soft bodied worms. not worried about the width thinking if they are too long. im gonna guess the length of my chameleon is about 2.5-3 inches. worm is about an inch. if too big my brother can grow these guys and feed em off to his other pets

They most likely are, but it won't matter very soon. They grow at the speed of light. Horn worms grip the branches really tight. I have had to take them off the branch for a couple of my chams. The worm was on so tight, the cham was straining to get the worm off the branch.

dude tose things grow like wildfire.. i get my cups tiny!!! and i refridgerate them to slow them down

yea they grew dramaticcally in just a day gave them to my bro. looks like i might have to order somewhere to get them as small as i want. even silks went to a store told me 1inch+ silks would be okay for my guy bought them still think their too big

The best is to buy eggs. You can get eggs plus food at great lakes hornworms. That way they start super tiny and you can start putting them in the refrigerator for a day in and a day out to slow their growth prior to them reaching the size you need.

yeah think that might be the plan. least i have bean weevil, fruit flies, crickets and phoenix worms as a variety for now.

Your cham sounds like he eats pretty well even without the hornworms. You are offering a good variety so he can wait for hornworms - different small ones.
