What size hood for a 24v24v48

Is a 24inch hood necessary? Or would at 20inch hood be fine? Also, what size lamp do you use?

You want at least 20 watts of uvb light for a 24x24 top. I run 54 watts with 2 22" T5 HO bulbs

I would try to get at least a 22" t5 HO 6% arcadia or 5.0 reptisun HO
They will also last a year vs the normal t8 bulbs that last 6 months.

A 20 inch would be perfectly fine for that size cage. It doesn't need to run the whole length of the cage.
