Lighting question, T8 vs T5

I am a little confused with lighting. I usually use arcadia but am switching to reptisun and have some more questions

This is the t8. from what I hear we are recommended to use the t5 hood.

What if i put this 5.0 t5 bulb in the t8 hood?
Would that work correctly?

Or would it not fit? Does the T refer to the bulb size? So the t8 hood would only fit the t8 bulb?
LAstly, can 2 15inch hoods link together like arcadia? or is it then 2 seperate wires?

The T 8 is a different size bulb. They are not interchangeable with fixtures. I am not sure about linking, i think you can piggyback 2 with reptizoo.
