Okay, my panther was basking on a branch near the top of his cage and his eyelid suddenly infladed! Luckily he rubbed his eye against the branch to counteract the effect.
Can anyone tell me what in the world just happend?!

Are you sure there was inflation? They commonly "swirl" there eyes in and out of their head, and rub them on things. This is normal.
Inflation of the eye however, as far as I know, is not...

Yeah, he probably just popped his eyelid out and then pulled it back to normal. I'm pretty sure it's Chameleon 101, Lesson 14B "How to Freak the Humans Out". It's right up there with seemingly dislocating multiple legs simultaneously and walking on the ceiling.
