Im confused, again! I don't understand his what he is trying to do. My 1yo male veiled has been super active lately. He has always been one to come to me when I open his door. And for the last two months he spends pretty much every day light our outside in his enclosure on my front porch. Lately if I just walk by his enclosure and knowledge him in anyway he comes flying from whatever part of his cage he's in and begs me to take him out. When I do take him out he doesn't want me he wants to get down on the ground. So I let him climb down me on his own and get on the ground, I don't put in there. He does this quickly and seems to be pretty happy but as soon as he gets off my porch and put his toes in the grass he freezes turns dark and doesn't know what to do. After a couple mins he will turn around and come straight back to me and beg for me to pick him up again. So I pick him up and he goes right back to normal, bright colors, active, the whole thing. Five minutes later we do the whole routine again,!what is he trying to do? What am I missing? He has a water dropper 24/7, I know his belly is full. He is one year-old and just matted for the first time a couple weeks ago, could this just be a young cham exploring his world or am I missing something? Has anyone heard of Cham Who likes to be on the ground? I'm in the process of building him a 5'x5'x10' outdoor enclosure, could he just be feeling a little cooped up?
Btw - that stick thing with all the branches in the right side of the pic is an extension of his enclosure that I hang next to the screen section so he can go back and forth at will. But I only do this when I'm staying close by.
