What are the symptoms of aspiration?

I'm very curious to know if aspiration caused when liquid (through syringe feeding) getting into the breathing tract of a cham happens in a matter of minutes, as it would with humans, or takes several hours to result in death?

I ask, because i'm syringe feeding my Jackson's, Max, and want to know what to expect if i should suspect any issues of this nature….
