What about reg vet visits

Does anyone take their cham to the vet for checkups when they are healthy? I want to have Clara looked at since i got her when skinny and not cared for properly at my work. I guess I'm just nervous since now I know how the petcare dept. housed her and stuff. She has shed twice in less then a month since I got her so I'm going to assume she is growing and she eats like a pig. She is acting normal from what I know and isn't too cranky with me anymore. What do you guys do here??

I take them when they need it, looking bad, abnormal behavior, etc. It doesn't hurt to take them to the vet even WHEN they look healthy, because chameleons are good at hiding things until it's too late. I wouldn't suggest every month unless you can afford it LOL... but maybe two, three times a year?

My vet charges less for "wellness exams" and multiples in one visit (taking 3 at once instead of one) If one is sick, then that one and 2 others go and we rotate. I try to take them once a year just to familiarize my vet with them. It doesn't cost that much and in the long haul less because I catch anything thats wrong before it costs hundreds to fix.
If it is in your budget, go once a year. :D

I take mine for check ups and I live 2 hours from the vet. My vet recommends check ups every 6 months for chameleons. Jann

Agreed - if its in your budget, go once a year. If everything seems well, and if your watching your pennies, every other year will work with just a fecal inbetween. or so I think ;)
