Just wait till the physical therapy starts.
I've had it done on both knees for torn cartilage and calcium build up on the joint.
Good luck. Elevate and use ice.
Hope you feel better soon!![]()
hang in there, hope pain relief comes quick!
I had a total knee replacement on 11/13/12, I am almost pain free and have been doing great since a week to a week and a half after surgery. The pain does go away and you will feel tons better than before. Hang in there. You can come here and we will all try to make you feel better.
Hey Lauie, mine wasnt near that extensive! I had a torn meniscus that was giving me he££, at lease I thought it was, until today!
I've been told, not by my Dr. but by some that have had it done, that they were walking without crutches and climbing stairs the next way,,, well,,, that's not going to happen!!
I'll have the next 2weeks to come here, mix and mingle and probably vegetate a bit too!!!!
Thanks!!!!!
I had people tell me they were dancing a couple weeks after surgery. That may be truebut they were either asleep or on some strong nonprescription drugs. JMO
You and I have to live with reality.
Oh wow, yeah even those non invasive surgeries can be quite painful! Get feeling better soon!

I wont lie to you.
The therapy sucks A**.
And, even after all that, there will be days even years after, it still hurts.
I tore the meniscus in both knees, the knee cap ground on my joint causing calcium build up. the patella tendon had to be cut and reattached lower because it was too short.
this was in both knees.
The therapy hurts, esp when they are working to get range of motion back.
It takes time, but if you work out regularly (after the therapy) the knee pain wont happen as often.
Its been 5 years since i had my knees done.. they still hurt on occasion, but they dont jhurt as often as they did before the surgery, and since i work out regularly, the chronic pain has subsided.
take it on day at a time. and really listen to the therapist... even when you want to strangle them.
