.... my arthroscopic surgery on my knee and it hurts like he££!!!! I really didn't think it was going to be this painful!
I think I need something stronger!!!! ;)

Just wait till the physical therapy starts.
I've had it done on both knees for torn cartilage and calcium build up on the joint.
Good luck. Elevate and use ice.

Thanks camimom... Gee I can't wait!!!! I'm keeping it up and icing it and popping pills, I guess I just need to give it a little more time!

I had a total knee replacement on 11/13/12, I am almost pain free and have been doing great since a week to a week and a half after surgery. The pain does go away and you will feel tons better than before. Hang in there. You can come here and we will all try to make you feel better.

Hey Lauie, mine wasnt near that extensive! I had a torn meniscus that was giving me he££, at lease I thought it was, until today!
I've been told, not by my Dr. but by some that have had it done, that they were walking without crutches and climbing stairs the next way,,, well,,, that's not going to happen!!

I'll have the next 2weeks to come here, mix and mingle and probably vegetate a bit too!!!! ;)
Thanks!!!!!

I had people tell me they were dancing a couple weeks after surgery. That may be true:rolleyes: but they were either asleep or on some strong nonprescription drugs. JMO

You and I have to live with reality.

Oh wow, yeah even those non invasive surgeries can be quite painful! Get feeling better soon!

i am sorry for your pain lisa, the less you think about is is the better. vegetatte is ok, but keep disttractions and entertsinment so you will forget easier :)

Agreed!!!!! No mosh pit for me tonight!!!

Feel better soon Lisa and until then get stronger pain meds. ;)

Thanks Jann! The problem with getting stronger meds is that it's the weekend and narcotics can't be called in. If it still hurts this bad Monday I'll be getting hooked up with something stronger! ;)

I'm trying but every time I move it or try to get around on the crutches I'm whipped back into reality!!
Thanks for words of encouragement!!!

I wont lie to you.
The therapy sucks A**.

And, even after all that, there will be days even years after, it still hurts.

I tore the meniscus in both knees, the knee cap ground on my joint causing calcium build up. the patella tendon had to be cut and reattached lower because it was too short.

this was in both knees.

The therapy hurts, esp when they are working to get range of motion back.

It takes time, but if you work out regularly (after the therapy) the knee pain wont happen as often.

Its been 5 years since i had my knees done.. they still hurt on occasion, but they dont jhurt as often as they did before the surgery, and since i work out regularly, the chronic pain has subsided.

take it on day at a time. and really listen to the therapist... even when you want to strangle them.

Hope you feel better soon, do the rehab and take it easy......my husband Steve, played pro football and has had 3 total knee replacements in the past 10 years, he had over 12 arthroscopic surgeries before that, he knows what you're going through and he says the rehab and strengthening along with weight management is the best thing to do to keep from having to have the replacement in the future.....best of luck to you Lisa.

I'm clearly not looking forward to therapy although I know it's a necessary evil! And I plan on getting myself in better shape after I get past this point! It's not something I want to have to go through with the other knee!!
It's hard enough getting around on crutches, I have to dodge cats and cat toys! I can't wait to be on my own two feet!!!!!
Thanks for the heads up!!!!
