Weird superworm liquid

So whenever I pick up a superworm it like puts out this strange liquid substance and then my fingers get all wet, nothing serious I was just wondering what that stuff was?

Same thing happens to me. When I was a kid the frogs use to piss on me until I learned to point it at my friend first!I am sure its along the same line of defense!
