I got my newest veiled on Friday (same one from the previous post
) and he's doing a lot better than the last one! I have noticed however, for the past two days he's been acting very funny about me holding him or getting him out of his cage. I'm careful about putting my hand in front of him and guiding him into it, but every since 2 days ago when I reach for him he'll kind of pull away. Same thing happens while I'm holding him, if me or anyone else reached for him he pulls away, but once our hand is there he'll crawl onto it. He's also funny about faces, my boyfriend wanted to get a picture of me with the chameleon, and when I brought him up for the picture he acted as if he didn't want to get close to my face and quickly crawled to the other side of my hand. Today when I held him, I made sure he was a good distance from my face just in case it was stressing him, and as I was sitting here he opened his mouth wide and made a squeaking sound at me. He'll also turn back over his shoulder and watch me as he walks away... I haven't done anything and I'm very gentle with him because I know they tend to be fragil. The other day though, my grandma held him and tried to contain him in her hands almost like a hamster. I quickly informed her she needed to just let him crawl, but she still kept him in a tighter space. She didn't squish him or squeeze his body, but could that maybe have scared him? Is this behavior normal for them or should I see someone about it?
