Good afternoon,
While I currently have years of experience with reptiles snakes and arachnids, this is about our first chameleon. A coworkers son bought a veiled hatching female from a reptile show but had absolutely no idea how to care for her.
Apparently months went by and finally she decided enough was enough and to find her a proper home. She asked me and I did l some research and took her on. She was really stressed the first couple days. But after I set her up with proper lighting and misting has been doing better.
However I noticed, now that she isn’t constantly puffing up whenever I’m near, she seems too thin. How long does it take for a Cham to lose/gain weight? I know we are feeding her enough and I know she is eating, drinking, and having normal bowl movements.
I started to feed some higher fat content pray. Just wondering if I stay the course or if a vet visit is in order ?
