Watering my chameleon

So I see that everybody suggests that we should water our chameleons in the shower from time to time. I don't understand this because I was told to not give veiled chameleons tap water????? Any info on this?

No...it’s the opposite! There’s no reason to take a healthy cham into a shower.

So if a chameleon needs hydration we do give them tap water????

I've kept chameleons for over 30 years and used tap water the whole time. I put it in big bottles (no caps) and let it sit out overnight to let the chlorine dissipate. It depends on what's in your local water though in the way of additives...and I can't tell you for sure what chemicals to watch out for.

"Everybody" doesn't agree with showers. I've never given them showers.
