Does it matter what kind of water you use in a dripper or mister? can i use tap water or does it have to be bottled or something?

Make sure it is filtered or treated some even go as far to use distilled. I used the filtered water that you buy from thos machines. I buy 5 gallons at a time. You want to be sure that the chlorine is removed.

Tap water has hard water deposits which can clog you mister nozzle. If that happens you can soak it in vinegar to clean it out. I use tap water but i also boil it first because of all the added things they put in it.

A lot of people use distilled water so the nozzles dont click and is fine to use right from the get go.

I think that will filter the extras out. Read the filter package and see what it does. I have read other posts that members have posted and they use them.

Im pretty sure any kind of filtration will only help, just as long as your filters clean and or working properly, I get natural spring water, and mist atleast twice a day using that water.

in my automatic mister i only use distilled water so i don't get calcium buildup in the nozzles. you can clear it up with vinegar like sticktongue said, but i feel the hassle of buying distilled water is way less than removing my mister nozzles to soak in vinegar. in my dripper and hand sprayer i just use regular tap water with repti-safe

I believe (based on what I've read) that the automatic misters specify distilled or purified water.

What water you use is something only you can decide. Some people really trust their tap water, some do not.

I don't believe chameleons tolerate fluoride. Just a conclusion I've come to based on reading. My community fluoridates, so I distill my water. Brita filters do not remove fluoride.
