Water for mist king

So I am just waiting for my mist king to get here before setting it up. It got me thinking I know almost everyone recommends either distilled or RO water for their misters so it doesn't clog the valves/sprayers. My mom bought one of those Britta filters with like 20 of the replacement filters. Would that work for use in the mist king, instead of me buying distilled water or a RO system? Or do they not filter all of the minerals out? I do plan to buy a RO system in the future for my Cham.
Tried searching not much info came up. So I figured it would be best to just ask.

I'm wondering this as well. I've always used the one-gallon distilled water jugs from grocery stores for my humidifiers. Perhaps it'll be cheaper in the long-run using a filter on the water beforehand like you said.

I hope other members have input on it.

I tried store bought RO in my AquaZamp but I started to get calcium deposits on the leaves of my ficus, I'm going back to distilled exclusively.

It depends on the type of water you have. Is it hard or soft. The water supply I have is soft and we don't get any lime scale so no clogging. We drink the water straight from the tap so the mistaking bucket gets the same.

It just depends how your water is. I boil my water and then let it cool and i also have a screen inside my reservoir my spray nozzle does good. YOu just have to try it out. and see what happens. i think i have seen people on here say if you drink it its probably good for your cham. Hope this helps

We all drink the water straight from tap(people,reptiles,dogs,cats), water goes from tap to sprayer, to cages/waterbowls, and everyone is as healthy as can be.I have never seen any calcium deposit on any of my cages or tubs.
My mom bought the filter because they were on sale at some store, so she decided to stock up. We have used the filter once because no one bothers to refill it because they would rather just a bottle of Poland sping or tap water. So if I could use it I will.

I have very calcium rich water from the tap which made my plants a white powdery mess. I tried a Brita jug, but it was just too much of a pain to filter a half gallon at a time. I settled on RO water from the dispenser at my local supermarket. I bring 2 5 gallon jugs in every two weeks and fill them for a total cost of less than 4 dollars a trip. To me it's worth it to not spend the time waiting for the water to trickle through the Brita, cam is healty, no deposits on the plants.

FWIW the dispenser I get the water from is Glacier brand.

I have a mist king thats been running for about 2 years now. I usually use a mix of bottled spring and distilled water. Occasionally I use tap water. Every few months I remove the spray nozzles and clean out the little screen and soak the nozzles in 50/50 warm water and vinegar for about 20 min.

Those tiny screens get really REALLY junky.
