Are there certain types of water crystals that we should use ? I usually make my own gut load and it has water in it for consistency crickets love it and they get there water that way. I want to try this new cricket gut load , It is dry so I am guessing you add water crystals to your cricket cage for hydration, question is does it mater what kind I use ? At lowes near me I see a few different kinds, such as :
soil moist granules
Miracle grow etc etc.....

I have used miracle grow water crystals. Just look at the package and make sure it doesn't contain anything that can harm your chameleon

Why not just throw in a piece of orange or carrot? I just hate the idea of crickets getting any empty nourishment and a fruits and veggies for hydration shouldn't interfere with the dry gut load.

That is what i was thinking, but i see guys using the water crystals. I just received my order of cricket crack, just trying to figure the best way to hydrate with it.

You can use (1)veggies as source for moisture. Add (2)water crystal, or (3)wet paper towels. Or can also (4)add water to the dry gutload. Just mix a little at a time, because it's organic, will mold when wet over time. So remove any fuzzy stuff that starts to grow.

I go to Lowes and get a package of their water Crystals. You get a nice size package and it lasts forever!

personally, I vote for using vegetables and some fruits (along with your dry gutload)
Repashy makes water crystals specific for feeders
