Okay @Beman your prediction was correct: the silicone works as an adhesive but it’s not strong enough to hold the tension the vinyl needs when stretched in the frame. I give up!!

I’m going to try solid PVC panels instead. Is there a specific type of PVC/acrylic sheeting that is enclosure friendly?

What thickness works best in terms of not being too heavy?

So I purchased the solid white PVC sheet in 1/8 inch thickness. This worked well for me. 1 4x8ft sheet will work for a 2x2x4ft cage.
