So I have been working on making allergen safe (wheat gluten, protein, etc) treats of various kinds for dogs. I won't even touch the other foods/treats I make for my other animals XD. I started doing it for my dog (I now do it for some of my friends and family), because my dog Dewey started not only eating raw but in the beginning had severe allergies to corn, wheat gluten, and chicken, so it made trying to find him treats a headache. At the moment he can eat chicken safely again, but he shows much more interest in my homemade treats than any store bought kinds I have ever gotten. It started with cookies. Now I do jerky that can be fed as training treats, I also do jerky chews, I have also started to buy certain cuts to dehydrate such as trachea, gullet, and tendon.
Wanted to share today's project, bison trachea is pictured below, I will show a picture soon once it is done drying:
A lot of the extra fat had to be trimmed off and some of the excessive connective tissue, though I tried keep as much as possible for the health reasons they provide.
