Very ill chameleon, help ASAP. Nearly dead.

My chameleon is very ill. It's a female. Recently laid eggs last week which were not fertile. Now she has gone to a very dark green, her eyes are closed and deeply sunken in. She looks very thin and ill. Slow breathing. Some pictures to follow, tried to contact vets but as bank holiday weekend unable to get advice.. more details and pictures to follow..

please help if possible.

Did she start back eating after laying the eggs? How old is she? A good chameleon vet ASAP may be her only chance.

she started eating alittle. she's about 1year old. tried ringing vets today but as its a bank holiday no one was able to see her until tommorow. wrapped her up keeping her warm, hoping she survives until the morning.

Has she been drinking? To keep her warm you will need to keep her under her lights. I hope that she will turn around and make it for you.

You have a uvb light and calcium on your crickets?

Can you post a picture so we can see how bad she looks? Yes get her to a vet ASAP, but until then try take her outside if weather permits and maybe a 30 minute shower will get her drinking and help until the vet appointment. Hope this'll help.

I am really sorry your having to go through this. I recently had a female who laid and for the next week was still dropping eggs, she couldn't pass one egg and became eggbound. Very possible your cham maybe going through the same thing. I hope you can get her to a vet tomorrow to see what's wrong, my prayers are with you

You really need to get her to the vets right away if you want her to have a chance. Do they not do emergency calls?

They are surprisingly resilient animals. They can seem to be about to die, but turn around completely and thrive.
