Veiled patterns

Hello, I was wondering when male veileds usually start to get their patterns. My male veleid is about 4 months old and I can kind of see light green stripes on his body.

Mine had his by 3.5 months.

Why not post a picture of him? Let us see how he looks.....I've hatched out a number of Veiled clutches. The babies hatch with male and female patterns. My baby males have always shown vivid markings at the time of hatching. The male babies look like little tiny watermelons. I've got some ready to transfer from the egg container to the baby cage after I get off the computer. After they get into the baby cage they settle down and the colors all fade and turn into a pretty solid color for a month or longer. You then have to look for "spurs" to tell the sex.

Then some of the males and females start popping out their male female patterns. Females also have markings. Some of the males and females in each clutch "blossom" early. Others develop more slowly. It also varies from clutch to clutch. My Veiled babies from eggs fertilized in the wild (caught outside in Florida) are usually much earlier to color/pattern up than captive bred Veileds. Some Veiled males also go through an ugly brown "teenage" phase.

So why not post a picture of your little guy?
