Veiled Chameleons and Hibernation/Brumation

Was anyone successful with this? I want to know how veileds might react to winter temperatures of South Africa johamnesburg. I kept them outdoors for the entire summer time through rain and all. I'm looking to construct large outdoor enclosures with enough space, foliage and structure for the chameleons to make use of microclimates. I would partially cover the top, back and sides to provide wind cover. Maybe adding plastic roll up sheets to cover most of the cage during winter will help insulating should temperatures be absolutely intolerable. The average summer day high T is 79f and low 60f. The average winter day high is around 60f and low is around 40f. Rain season is in summer.
