Veiled chameleon gravid?

Does she appear gravid? My daughter thought she was going to lay eggs and has been doing everything she can this past week to help her. She has hung a sheet up to give her privacy and researched every day. She was thicker a week ago, but there have been no eggs laid. Her coloring stays about this color. My daughter thinks she is due to the lump by her vent. Thoughts??? This is causing my daughter lots of anxiety.

Umm…definitely not gravid. I’m pretty sure that your chameleon is a boy. A young boy of maybe around 6 months old or so, and still developing, but nonetheless a boy. That bulge by the vent - might be hemipenes. To confirm what I’m 90% sure of, look for spurs on the back feet like in the below pic.
I do totally appreciate that you were prepared and taking steps for having a girl. You did good, but it’s a false alarm.

We thought it was a girl,she doesn't have a spur although she has a very small bump on her back feet.

A week ago when we where confident she was gravid, we saw 2 large bumps on both of her sides that went away the next day.We thought her eggs had dropped down in position to lay. And now today she looks like the picture posted earlier with a bump in front of her back legs. Thanks for your help. Do you have any other thoughts or suggestions?

Could you post more pictures of the back feet to have another look at the spurs. I am not spotting any spurs.

Ok…now I’m admitting to being very confused. The first pics you posted, going by the vertical bars, your chameleon looks male. I even thought I saw a blurry tarsal spur in one of the pics. But now with these recently posted pics, your chameleon does indeed look like a gravid female. @Motherlode Chameleon @kinyonga you are both so very much more experienced than I - what are your thoughts?
