Veiled Chameleon Diet Question

I've been feeding my male veiled about 10-15 crickets every day. The past week or so he hasn't been eating any of them. I've also been giving him about 5 wax worms. He is eating the worms. Is it unhealthy to feed him more wax worms and less crickets? I don't really know how old he is, probably around 5 months, but I didn't know how old he was when I got him. There's a dripper in his enclosure and I mist multiple times a day, so I don't think he is dehydrated. He is also very active. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sometimes they will go on hunger strikes for certain insects. People usually use wax worms as treats due to their high fat content. An overweight chameleon is just as bad as an underweight chameleon. He may just be wanting the wax worms instead of his crickets. Try hornworms if you're worried about dehydration due to their high moisture content. You can also try dubia roaches as well.

so wax worms are only a treat, too many waxworms will result in an obese chameleon because they are so high in fat concentrate. try silk worms instead theyre super high in nutrients and chams usually love them hornworms can be addictive but he may like them too. you should usually feed 6-8 crickets a day too, you may be overfeeding him.
