uvb problem.. best to place in or outside the cage?

ermmmm ... if you know a way to get silllicone kit loose..
i could try it ...but what then .. what do i need to buy then..

What I would do:

Take a razor blade and cut the silicone free.

You should be able to cut it loose, remove that piece.

You will need screen material, they sell some that BLOCKS UVB, you do NOT want this kind.

Get simple metal screen that wont rust.(they sell it coated for windows).

Also get some metal rod, somthing smaller than a cm in diameter.
Also get a hacksaw, and some more silicone.

You could then lay the screen over the hole, and cut metal rods to fit along the edges of the hole.

Push the rods into place over the screen, and silicone it.


Thats what I would do.

I assume there is a "lip" for that metal piece you have now to sit on so it doesnt fall though, that you could press the rod onto.
