Do you think I need a longer bulb and fixture for my cage? It’s not completely across like it doesn’t touch the corners diagonally but it is for the most part. I’m also not done with my enclosure yet that’s why there isn’t any branches inside yet

Nope that will be fine Just make sure your distance to basking is correct for the fixture type and bulb strength.

That length is fine. If you're concerned about the weight on the screen top, you can support the fixture on the frame on small blocks of 1" x 2" (or whatever you have lying around).

I have a similar lattice, but I used ceiling egg crate instead of dowels (but I like your dowels too).

Your dowel lattice is also better for supporting horizontal & angled dowel perches between the 2 lattices!

Man, I've been looking for that dowel trellis post & picture for 3 months, wanting to pass the idea along to others. Now I've saved it in OneNote where I can find it!

How did you make your lattice? Did you use a hot glue gun or wood glue or or something else?

This is an older thread, and Sky11 hasn't logged on since 10/21/21.
It looks to me like they were glued, but there are probably other methods that would work.
Pre-drilling (to prevent splitting) and pinning with wire brads, zip-ties, lashing come to mind.
