UVB help

Hi, I have this umbrella tree in my room that I let my Cham out onto to get his time outside of his cage. My question is ; I don't have a UVB light above my tree, so how long is it ok to let him chill on there with no UVB or is it even at all?

you should place the tree outside so he gets his natural uvb which is alot better that a uvb light.

I have one but i can't always take him outside.


But i have another question, I moved some things around and this is how it is now.


My new question is, if i leave the door open most of the time will he be able to regulate his lighting needs on his own; i.e if he wants to bask he'll go back to the cage or can he tell when he needs uvb he'll go back to the cage, or should i hang a uvb light above the plants to be safe.

It will get its uvb, when mine wants he will only sit under the uvb not the basking. but i would just leave him in his cage or remove the cage all together and free range it

That would be free-ranging.. many have fallen victim to entire rooms taken over by chams it happens haha
