uvb fitting

off to my local pet centre today (purple pet centre) looking for fitting to house a 5.0 linear just wondering if there are any makes of fitting that are better than another ??? or doesnt matter ? its the bulb that matters ??
is a hood with a built in one ok ? or shouldn't i get to due to lack of ventilation my exo terra has a mesh top which i thought nice good vent the hood will block this ???

well know one answered me but had a look at the hoods and they had 2 uvb bulbs in so i got a linear 5.0 tube and fitting instead

Sorry some days we are all dead beats. First if using a flexarium I would use a 10. as the flex will block some of the light. Also you are not planning on putting it inside are you? Your cham can get burned that way. I use a dual fixture with one UBV and one plant light. Hope this still helps.

i have a 5.0 also picked up a cheap uv detector which turns purple, and the light is on the outside and the detector is ever so slightly light purple on the ground will that be ok ????
got few more bits to today digi themo and humidity meter some more plants all i really need now is to monitor the heat/humidity to get it right then go buy the chammy and his food + supplements :~)

It all sounds good. I am sorry but I don't know what the uv detector is. I have a really good one and can't even use it.
What kind of chameleon are you getting ready for?

for a veiled we have had iguana's and geckos and snakes in the past always wanted a chammy and now we can

the detector is like a glow in the dark ball but when UV rays are present it goes different shades of purple the pet centre said they use them and all good and only cost me £1.99 cheap as chips
