Hello, new person here who has just brought a pair of panthers :) the guy I got them from said not to use foggers or electronic misters to aid humidity(he says to hand spray the leaves and bark frequently) as the vet told him his cham's respiratory tract infection was due to inhaling mist or spray yet misting systems seem commonplace on these forums, any comments welcome, im in the uk, brilliant site BTW and loving the enclosure pictures :)

I would say the breeder might want a new vet.

I am sure you can get contaminated misting lines/mist heads, etc., however bacteria/viruses cause upper respiratory infections. Most chamleons inhale multitudes of bacteria and viruses all the time. They need a healthy immune system.

I run a lot of water through my systems and don't leave a lot of water in the reservoir so my reservoirs are filled a couple of times a day.

thanks, it wasn't the breeder who told me that it was the guy I got them from but that makes sense to me , he brought them in for me from his supplier but it was his male panther that had the infection
