Update pics on my deremensis babies

They just turned one month old and either shed or are shedding. They are really growing great and I am so proud. They love the mantids when the pods start to pop and will eat them all up pretty quickly. The dere are fun to watch because they rock back and forth for about 15 - 20 seconds licking their lips. When they stop you know they are ready to shoot. They have a really incredible length to their tongue and aren't sloppy shooters. The tongue comes out straight and goes back in straight, you don't see it flop around much. Then of course they daintily chew. They still like to snuggle with each other at night and I don't see much fighting going on unless there is too big of a cham pile and the bottom guy doesn't like his head stepped on.

Well, here are some pics for your enjoyment.

Very Nice..... Of course Im loaded with babies right now too. I'd love to pick up a cb deremensis. What an accomplishment. You must be thrilled.....:D

I am thrilled! Does anyone know how to sex these adorable little nubbins? I was reading that the horn buds don't come in until 8 months. That's a long time to wait until you know if you have a male or female.

That is Awesome! GREAT job with them they look amazing. I have never seen an ooth in the cage with the babies but it makes perfect since great idea.

They love those creepy crawly mantids. I hatched out the first batch in a deli cup and had a real funny time getting them all in the terrarium, so I just put some of the ooths in there with the babies and let them hatch out right in there with them. They love them.

Where'd you read that ? Around 3 months or so, depending on the growth earlier you will see small horn "dots" ;)

I have 18 babies. You will be able to see them at the Daytona Super Show. As for the hornes, I was reading this morning, just various sites, and found where they said 8 months. If that is incorrect I am glad. I was hoping earlier for horn buds. I can't see anything now although I keep looking.

Naomi, the buds are visible at this age as little round circular raised scales where the horns will be. Great job with them by the way.

I'll be looking forward to seeing you in Daytona. I've still got to get down your way to see Lois & Clark.
