*UPDATE* Calais

So Calais is doing OK, not super. his tail has continued to dry up and die past where she amputated, but it seems to have stopped traveling up his tail so I think it will be okay. He is on antibiotics which should help if there is an infection. He eats and drinks normally and still displays his nice bright colors, he's even started to display some of his Nosy be whites =D He is on his own little free range in the livingroom and enjoys his space. He knows when it's bed time and even if we have a few lights on he stays asleep. I just hope his tail doesn't keep rotting away.

Thank you for updating I was wondering how you made out. I am very glad things are turning around and looks good for the rest of the tails future.

By the sounds of it they didn't need the whole dang thing anyways and are adjusting very well. Nice job on recognizing your Cham was in trouble and getting them the help they needed in time:D

If there is a dead part at the end of what's left of the tail, be careful if/when it starts to separate from the live part of the tail...its another opportunity for infection if this happens and its not sealed/healed completely and the chameleon might have to be put back on antibiotics.

I am going to see if I can put some skin glue on it. they used some when I chipped my python to keep it in, I don't see why they couldn't put it on the end of his tail.

Thanks for the update Kayla. I don't know much about tail amputations but I sure hope your beautiful boy will be alright. Have you told the vet that it looks dried up and dead above the amputation? I would sure want to get the vets opinion.
