Tr. wiedersheimi subspecies

To satisfy my curiosty with regards to Tr. w. wiedersheimi & Tr. w. perreti, do most wild caught shipments usually contain one or the other subspp, or both? Does one 'harvest' from one area usually have 100% of one subspecies (I suppose so, by definition of subspecies & geographic barriers)?

If so, which is more commonly seen in the industry?

Cheers,
Drew

Yes, typically shipments have one or the other species. Occasionally there will be a shipment with both but this is because the exporter had animals from different regions and sent both. In recent years Trioceros wiedersheimi perreti has been the more common subspecies exported to the US but in the past it was the other way around. It just depends on where the exporter is getting their animals from.
