Had to take him to the vet again as on Saturday his rear left leg was swollen and he was reluctant to use it. Currently waiting for his bloodwork results and in the mean time have been given instruction to give him two 15 minute soaks a day to help him get rid of whatever is causing the swelling to occur. Today the swelling was almost completely gone and he was using his legs again. MBD has been ruled out, and he is fully hydrated, hence the bloodwork to see if caused by excess uric acid or too much of some vitamins. He currently only experiences pain when the swelling is really bad. His body weight is also 109 grams. Depending on what the bloodwork reveals, I might have to give him a binder medication so he can excrete the excess, if that doesn't work, then pain and inflammation medication will be added, and if it is continues to worsen, then there is a surgery option. It is possible that since he was from a petsmart, that he wasn't adequately hydrated and suffered some kidney damage, in which case, I'll just have to ensure he is fully hydrated at all times, which could be mean syringe feeding him water on a daily basis.
