too much light?

Im wondering if im offering my panther too much light. I currently have a 2 foot T5 fixture with 6 bulbs, 5 6500k and an arcadia uvb. Also use a 50 watt flood light for the basking bulb which is around 84 degrees. I have the option to either have 2 lights on at a time or 4 lights on or all 6. I know he is not use to so much light so maybe I should start with just 2 bulbs on for awhile and after a month or so take it up to 4 bulbs? I come from reef tanks where you want a ton of light, so I always seem to over do my lighting, even in my house.

I'm pretty sure the sun is brighter than your t5 fixtures as long as you have plants for him to go under id think youd be fine
My fixture is a SunBlaze 28. ext by 2ft it's an 8 bulb t5 ho with one repti 5.0 will be replacing that with 12 arcadia when needed but yeah as long as you got coverage dont sweat it.

Volta, you are right about the sun, but he is not out in the wild, but being confined to a small area in a cage. What size is your cage??? Most keepers have one UVB light, one basking light, and then maybe a 6500K grow light for live plants. In a 24 X 24 X 48 that is all you really need. The rest would be overkill in my opinion and maybe even harmful if too much light blaring down into the cage. Also, how old is your panther?

He is about 14 months. I'll try judt using the uvb, a 6500k for plants and my 100 watt bulb for basking. Had to use a 100 to get the temp at 86 degrees in his spot.

just make sure the cage itself it is not bright painted so it will reflect all the light on you animal and that he was enough shade too when he needs it:)
