Climbing under basking light again?

Hi.
He moved into his XL reptibreeze about a month ago.
He's been climbing to this spot every morning...I have a dimmable dome with a probe and set his basking spot to 82F. Should I give him more warmth or a branch closer to the light? Rn his basking branch is about 9inches down. I put it at that height cause of the 6% arcadia bulb..didn't want him to get too much uvb since the bulb is diagonally next to the basking light..hope that makes sense.
Using a 75W zilla bulb for basking.

He also goes to this corner a few times a day and just claws at the Arcadia bulb. Not sure why.

I would not want to encourage screen climbing behavior in adults. So i would want to figure out a setup that gets him onto a branch. I am evil and try to get them to "lateral bask" by aiming the hot spot off the bulb off center to the branch. So on the branch enough to attract cham, but then they have to reaaaaaally tilt to get the full basking experience.

Wow I've never seen this before😯
I just want him to he happy..right now he's still clawing the Arcadia bulb. I can hear him🥲
I want to add another branch maybe a bit closer to the basking bulb...im just scared that he will burn himself🤔

What's your ambient temperature?

I've found that Jack is super sensitive to his ambient temperature. He'll screen climb to the backing light if I don't have the room temperature to 18c by 9-10am. Sensitive little man.

I live in a hot and humid part 😒🥲
The AC is able to have the room at a steady 73-74F during the day, and 70-72 sometimes 73 at night.
It doesn't get any lower than this sadly.

Fair, that's also the right ambient range.

It should be safe to move/add a basking stick up one or two inches, so it's more like 7-8 inches away. I know the Arcadia is strong, but the UVB is still in the safe zone. A few years ago it was actually recommend that they have a Ferguson Zone up to 6. They've only recently discovered that they can still metabolise their vitamins in a Ferguson Zone 3. What you really need to worry about is how hot the temperature gets under his basking light. Try 1 inch first and if he's still not happy with it, move it up a bit more until he's like yeah, that's the spot! He'll crawl right to his happy place. 🙂

My basking light is also raised 5" from the screen with a tin pan and a hole cut out to sit the lamp on. Sometimes we have to get creative and macgyver things to make it work for them. 😂
