toe bent & dark color scales on top of area

I just noticed my chameleons back right toe is pointed outwards as if its pointing at something. Im not quite sure if it is broken or swollen I touch it and he flinches a little bit but doesn't act as if it bothers him at all. His foot is still able to hold in to branches and his grip is just as tight. On top you can tell it is swollen and has a few black spots. Not sure what is wrong so feedback would be awsome.
