Things we do for our pets.

My Cham has become like a new boyfriend slowwwly moving into my house. He used to just have his little area with his cage. But over time he now owns my night stand (which used to house my perfume, lotion, beauty supplies, ect.). Now it is filled with Calcium, Vitamins, Cricket Bins, Tweasers, Reptisafe, blah, blah, and blah. Now he also owns a compartment in the fridge. It's filled with worms and things for the crickets. I'm still in shock that my mother is okay with that. Lol. She also knows not to eat/throw away any vegetables or fruit without consulting with me first. I have an entire corner of my room stacked to the ceiling with unused/unopened reptile supplies. This is all goes without mention the basement with a 10 gallon tank for cleaning day, 2,000 crickets in a bin, and non-toxic cleaning supplies. My house has been taken over by an animal not even as big as my hand.

I now only allow 1 of my 4 dogs into my room, and that's after Bodhi is asleep. I have to admit.. I haven't been able to give up the scented candles. I have a Yankee candle addiction. It's definitely not an every day thing though. I don't use any harmful cleaning chemicals in my room anymore. I use a swiffer to dust. I have yet to convince my family to stop using the horrible floor cleaner. It really worries me, because I've heard it can kill Chameleons. It's that oily pine smell. I can still smell it a week later. How exactly is dusting/floor spray harmful to them? I know it's harsh. I would like to win this argument I'm about to start with my family. Anything for my Bodhi Bug's health.

Oh.. what we do for our Chameleons.

My husband is currently mad at me because I have silkworms incubating in our bedroom. He will get glad again eventually.

Here is my standby quote "An idle mind is the Devil's workshop".

Therefore, my chameleons give me something HEALTHY to be thinking about and spending my time with. If I didn't have them, I would be bored and I would probably find something UNHEALTHY to occupy my time and thoughts. Then I say, "which would you prefer, my love?". That usually get results;)

I love that you've replaced your unhealthy time with Chams! That sounds like me. Honestly, I'm about to get all therapist on your butts, but I like the schedule of it. I like that on Sundays I give him a certain supplement. I like that every day I have to feed/water the crickets. And that every 1-2 weeks I clean my Cham's cage. It gives me some responsibility and consistency to my life. I know that without me they would die. It makes you feel proud of yourself and gives a bit more meaning to life. I don't know many people that can keep a Chameleon healthy and alive. But we can! Just a thought.

Everyone be proud of yourselves! :D

By the way.. on a funny note. I think it would be pretty hilarious if we had "Cham's Single Speed Dating". Lol! That way.. no one has to deal with boyfriends/girlfriends who think it's gross. We can all just be live together with our 500 Chameleons! Wouldn't that be the life? What's so funny is I would probably meet another Cham lover. We would then ride off into the sunset, moving to a state with a warmer climate so our Chameleon's could live happier ever after. The end.

Haha but it's all good. We all need some Ying to balance our Yang. Someone needs to keep us in check!

Jordan, I just told Suzi today I was becoming a Cham supply hoarder :)
She asked if I had an extra hood and basking lamp and I took a pic of a boxful!.
I think we all do it to some degree. :)
I think it would be great to meet someone who appreciated our diligence to our chams, better yet they had their own as well

CrAzY for my cham!!

It was my boyfriend idea to get a chameleon I wasnt to sure to start with he works away at sea for 4 weeks at a time so I knew it would be my responsibility... im often unwell so im off work and borde at home alot and I started looking into it I quickly though they were amazing and decided to get one after lots of research finally got him and I think I love him a little bit more each day! If thats possible. When my bf is back he's a bit squeamish about the bugs my 3yrs old friend fed him and my bf wont he said he likes watching me enjoying myself feeding him lol yeah right! Oh well im glad he introduced me to the world of chameleon and it definitely give me somthing to do so that must be healther for me and Diesel ;)

My kids say my office looks and sounds like I am camping in a jungle. Along with all the cricket noise and waterfall sound.
I don't know what they are talking about.
