The very reason you Never leave them outside unattended!!!

If being left in outside cages this is a good reason to make sure they are secure also.

Agreed, I give mine the once-over each and every time one of my guys goes into one, just to make sure there aren't any avenues of escape. And then they are placed outside my window where I check on them constantly!! :)
you just can't be too careful!!!!!

Yes, and tied down to a surface if possible. Especially these screen cages that have the acryic bottom, there's nothing keeping your chameleon in (or a predator out) if the cage gets tipped over and the bottom just slides out of place.

I don't necessarily have to worry about that with the cages on my balcony, but if I move to a place with a yard my cages are going to have to be much sturdier. We have owls, foxes, snakes, raccoons, possums, etc...

So true Olimpia!!!! Unless you have a cage that is bottom heavy,, a strong wind can definitely topple a screen cage!

I so agree, as our area has cut down trees and we have kept ours we have several Red Tailed Hawks that nest in our trees. We just have to be careful here. My thoughts are the hawks were here first and i have to respect that and protect my family by careful observation and planning. Ruth
