Ever since Tony first discovered himself in the mirror in spring he's been obsessed and I do mean that literally, with getting to my mirror and fighting that "other" chameleon. At first I thought, "No chameleons don't have arch enemies" but here's the deal: I show him himself on my phone all the time in video form and in live action form and he could careless about "that chameleon". The tv chameleons don't even phase him. He doesn't even bat an eye at the bearded dragons. However you walk past a mirror or stand in front of one for .2 seconds and he flares up like that chameleon just rubbed him the wrong way. So naturally I choose to keep him from mirrors. And yet...he's smart he spends all his free roaming time (when he's confined to my room alone) looking for ways to get to my dresser so he can see that other chameleon. It's actually pretty funny. But today was truly exceptional.

So I'm working with my camera trying to figure something out while Tony explores the room. While toying with the camera he suddenly wants to crawl up my arm. I think nothing of it as usual and continue with the camera. He then crawls onto the camera to "help out" and again I pay no mind until I look up to see the boy flared up. I wonder if it's my shirt and ask him what he's doing (like he's going to respond) and then I see myself in the mirror and wouldn't you know I'm holding the camera up straight at the mirror haha. The boys a genius. Send me a link to chameleon private schools lol.

Tony is one HANDSOME boy !! Our youngest bearded dragon does the same . It's funny !! Our baby girl Chamaeleon was in a Glass enclosure for the first few month . When she saw her reflection she would get this beautiful tiger coloring but we knew it was her fighting mode . Also my Husband has to take his glass of when he's going to see her .

Maybe he's trying to start with the cham in the mirror
He want's to ask him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make that
Change!

Ahh! Now that's comedy! Haha. I don't even really know what to say but...you're probably right. I'll ask him.

Thank you! He has to take off his glasses?! Dude that's so funny. Tony has never reacted to my glasses, but he use to flare up at the glass door, but ONLY when we were outside of it. Inside of it he didn't care at all. I wonder why they choose certain reflections to set them off.

The reflection can look different on one side of glass as opposed to the other, especially with windows and doors. There is usually a reflective layer to help guard against UVB to help reduce fading of carpets, furniture, etc as well as help with cooling and heating costs. Your boy may not see his reflection on one side, but it can be there on the other.

Thing is though, all he wants is to be the center of attention and you were not complying with his request .

You're right, how foolish of me. Someone please call child services on me. Haha.

They see things we don't to . Yup my Husband can be across the room , if he has glasses on she will get all puffed up . Even from a distance . She must think here comes that big lizard . If he does not have them no puffing .

Maybe it's like the Skeleton Key, and they see their old souls in the reflections.
