The appetite of a monster!

Today when I left for work I left about 15 crickets in my almost 4 month old veileds cage, and when I came home they were all gone. He looked like he wanted a snack when I came home so I held some dubias in front of him and he ate about 10, I haven't seen him eat this much since I got him about a month ago. I'm wondering do their appetites change drastically out of nowhere?

Shortly after eating he peed and pooped a good amount.

They can. When mine are about to shed or are in the process they decline a lot of food, and then stock back up after they are done. Are you sure he ate all the crickets or could they be roaming around the cage? Also, if they were small enough a 4 month old wouldn't have much trouble taking down 15 crickets, though I would think the roaches would be a bit much. Keep an eye on him, but it could also just be a growth spurt making him extra hungry.

Usually I'll find some crickets roaming around, but this time there were none that I could see. Today he ate about 10 and only a couple of roaches.
