Thank you, guys - look at my cool cham!

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on CF sharing their knowledge of chameleons! Even though I don't always post, I do almost daily find great tips that allows me and my fiancé to keep out six-month-old veiled Thomas nice and healthy.

Look at him staring down my lens like that:

Thomas was feeling a little uneasy in the beginning, trying to adjust to his new home. We brought in a great reptile specialist (for those in the Netherlands, it's Rob Dumont from Reptielenopvang in Zwanenburg - seriously, a genius), who gave our little fellow a vitamin shot. Twenty hours later - BAM, shedding. Ever since he has been eating a variety of worms and crickets, up to 25 a day!

He has grown a lot, looks a little fatter, his veil is getting very big and he is becoming a very curious guy, happy to step out onto our hands for some free range playing on the (safe) plants in the living room. He even hangs out with us on the couch, sitting peacefully on our hands, stomach or shoulder.

He had his second shedding with us just days ago, and already he is looking huge. I cannot wait for different colors to start appearing, although I'm happy to have him look nicely calm and green.

We're working on a nice little free range spot for him that is permanent (unlike the random plants in the living room), so that he can bask and get up and down a little tree for a bit when we're at home.

THANK YOU! You guys keep me very excited about keeping this awesome animal safe and happy!

P.S.: please don't mind his stuffy nose. We've adjusted his supplements and he is breathing nicely again! (This photo was taken a week and a half ago)
