I looked in on my veiled, and THINK I saw her with some very interesting dark marks (okay...insert Harry Potter joke here) on her side...two lateral stripes. I'm seeing vague sort of dots, nothing to write home about. By the time I had gotten across the room to her she had faded to solid green with her one pale stripe. Maybe I imagined the whole thing.
Being absolutely paranoid about the egg-laying thing, I really want to figure out if she's matured enough. She weighs under 50g, but she's sort of a wide load. Her body is wider than her head.
So I'm lookin at a laying bin and have a 5 gallon 'contractors bucket'. Will that be large enough? Right now there is playsand in it to a depth of about 18". Someone suggested adding peat moss as well.
I'm very interested in hearing about other people's first time with a veiled female carrying eggs. You folks with the live-birth kind of chams don't have this particular worry! Must be awesome to see though.
