Suppliment Question

ok so after looking at supplements im going to get one w/o D3 just regular Zoomed calcium powder, but im lost on what to choose as a vitamin one. Herptivite has beta carotene in it which has enough research for me to say Lizards cant break that down into Vit A. on the other hand i like that Reptivite have a amino acid chain in it, but it also contains a calcium phosphate, and my question is will the Calcium phosphate when broken down run a chance of a phosphate build up?

Maybe its just me being cautious, but i would think that might be hard on his kidneys if it breaks down that way.

That being said what are your suggestions on Supplementing (Brands/Places to buy them)

Thanks in advance

If you use herptivite you will not overdose on the vitamin A for sure...so to me its a good choice for that reason...and you can give preformed vitamin A on its own if you feel the chameleon needs it. This way you can control the amount of preformed better IMHO.

all i use is rep-cal ohosphourous free calcium with CIT D is this fine or do i need to use another as well ... i gut load my crickets and worms with carrot and apple.... and bran hes about 6 months old and i dust ever other feeding.... tips.... some help thanks again guys...and girls.

your deff right lol i wouldn't have to worry about too much Vitamin A since a few researchers have proved Beta Carotene which is what the use to generate the vitamin A in the supplement. They dont have the enzymes to break it down so it passes straight through, but im worried about the phosphate. A overbuild of prosperous can kill their kidneys. anyone have any personal experience with that? is it worth it just to use it like 1 week a month to let him have the amino acids, and magnesium sulfate for his heart?

with the D3 you only do it like 2 times a month maybe less depending on how much UVB is taken in. im trying to get some better literature so i can better understand the Vitamin D absorption rate from supplements, and the rate from the light to get a correct amount of intake, but im waiting for a answer on where to find it at. and the University is closed this week for thank god my spring break
