Superworms

how many superworms should I give my 4 month old female veiled chameleon? I am trying to add superworms to her cricket diet ( which is 8 - 10 a day). what should I gutload the superworms with?

I think that you should probably start slowing down your food just a little bit because once she reaches sexual maturity at about 6-8 months you should feed her about once every other day, but I do know that females are seemingly always hungry and will eat just about whenever and whatever (survival instincts). For the superworms, I am not sure what they will eat but you should gutload them with whatever the crickets are gutloaded with. I would feed her a couple every other day along with the crickets every day, maybe? I know that they can be fed to chams as a dietary staple, so as long as you replace some of the crickets and don't feed so many, along with the superworms, it should be fine. That was a little confusing, sorry. I have never tried superworms but I have had many feeders in between. Maybe someone else can add another input. That is my two cents, good luck!

Don't slow her intake down just yet at 4 months, she has a couple of months before that needs to happen. At 6 months cut her to every other day at the same amount and then around 12 months reduce the counts your feeding. She is still growing and needs the vitamins and minerals your giving her to do so.

As for the superworms, I don't mix feeders in the same feeding like most do. Each feeding day is a different bug type so they aren't seeing the same bugs every feeding. I usually do 4 medium or 5 small for my younger ones on superworm day and they usually eat 3 or 4 of those. Supers will eat just about anything you give them as far as gutloading them though.
