So no oats?"Oats contain phytic acid, which impairs the absorption of iron, zinc, calcium, and more, and blocks the production of digestive enzymes"
First google search 'oats phytic acid'
Phytic acid is also present in other grains, corn, etc.
Okay thankyou for the infoI wouldn't say no oats, but maybe not a great bedding to go with. The nutrition of a feeder is influenced somewhat by what it's raised feeding on.
That’s great! We learn something every dayI was once told not to use oatmeal for bedding but I have pet been able to remember the reason since I was told so long ago....but it was someone who had to do with nutrition and insects. I think they said it had to do with calcium absorption.
I think @jamest0o0 has finally given me a reason!
And it doesn't matter how old (or young) you are...there is always something to learn! That’s great! We learn something every day
