Sunning and Stress

I have some pop up cages that I put my chams in. I take these outdoors when the temperature is nice and it's sunny.
I wonder how stressful this is for them. I know they benefit from the real sunlight but everyone says how stressful things can be for chameleons. If I let them sun like this twice a week is that too much?

As long as they have foliage to hide in case they spot a bird they are fine. Just try not to place them in a traffic area so they can be alone and feel safe.

Thanks for the info. I always put a large schefflera plant in each pop up when I take the chams outdoors.

The first tiem you take them out, they can get a bit stressed, they are moving, new environment, real sunlight, etc.

the first few times I took my guys out, they freaked, ran everywhere, turned black.. but after a few minutes in the sun, they calmed down and loved it.

Just make sure if its particularly hot, that you mist more often, and provide shaded spots for them to go cool off on.

Haha, my male shrunk up, turned brown and looked 1/6th his size, as soon as he was back inside, he was all fired up and looking large. My female was fine for the first minuet almost, until she realized that the ceiling ( the sky ) was no longer wood beams and plaster, and that it was now incredibly bright and blue, then she turned dark and shrunk up.

My tegu's just tried to run away lol
