Suggestion for future contest entries

As a photographer myself, it seems like most of our entries are based already on either

a) a cham in a funny pose or seeming to display a funny attitude.
b) a somewhat uninteresting shot of a brilliantly colored cham
...

I think I am ready to embrace this.

I have recently been thinking of two contests similar to the ideas royden and others posted above. The first would be a more formal contest and focus on specimens. The occasional species based theme could be used. The second contest would be more general and fun. It would entail the frequent theme and offer a larger variety of poses and creativity.

Any thoughts on this? There are still some details I need to think about, but thought I would post to see what others thought.

I obviously like it!

Let's do it! Would we need to split sponsorship though? How would the sponsorship affect multiple contests?

I am not sure yet how contest prizes will be affected. I need to think more about that.

A couple questions I have yet to answer about running two contests...
Do we have enough entries to cover both contests on a monthly basis?
If the contests run concurrently, can a member enter both at the same time?

I think just to be fair (if we are going to split the contest into two), the member can only participate in one of the categories.
It will allow diversities in the winner gallery.
