Hi i have a kenya jackson cham.. And i was told by the person i bought it from to leave no substrate....but how do i keep the humidity up?

thanks

How many times a day should i be misting the cage?.....what kind of live plants could i use(names)

Thanks

the most popular ones used are pothos, sheffelera(arboricola) ficus, ficus benjamin and hibiscus. Hibiscus are hard to keep unless you have a grow light cause they flower. You can mist the cage about 4 times a day for 3-5 minutes. Don't mist at night when your cham is sleeping.

ok

Thanks does it matter if he gets sprayed during a day misting and thanks for the list..... Your chameleon that is as you pic looks amazing.

That's okay. He might disagree on that, but he can get wet, it's not a problem. I wouldn't advise aiming at him, but it's okay if he gets in the way.

I spray the cage and he gets in the way and is sprayed by the water

im still confused, if he likes the spray and walks into it thats fine. in fact if hes walking into spray to get hydrated and drinks readily thats great (as long as the reason she walking into the spray is that hes not desperate for hydration)

just keep spraying as long as he keeps drinking, he will know when hes done. if youre using a hand sprayer and have to squirt squirt squirt at him thats gonn kill your forearm. and is a big reason a lot of chams are dehydrated. if youre using a hand sprayer go out and get a pressure sprayer. you pump it up a bit and it just shoots out for a while. no pssh pssh pssh bs.

you got pics i can tell you stright up if he looks dehydrated. and no worries dude im not gonna judge ya. if youre here for help that the best thing you can be doing

Check my othere posts or threads i have pics of him on those... Sometimes it doesnt let me post like rite now....i hope hes not dehydrated

What he said!

And no substrate is fine. Research what has been suspected dangerous or proven difficult as far as types. For chams which rarely use the substrate other than a dinner plate I prefer repticarpet. Clean attractive washable and absorbent!

pictures of your cham and setup would be an excellent addition to the thread!
