I keep a single panther chameleon in a screen enclosure in my Boise apartment, and the room gets dusty fast. Between the substrate, dried leaves, and the misting that dries on the screen, I'm wiping surfaces constantly. I've been looking at smart HEPA purifiers with auto mode and a night setting, since I'd want it to run quieter after lights-out and not blast dry air straight at the cage. My worry is whether pulling room air through a purifier changes humidity around the enclosure too much, or whether the intake could bother the chameleon with vibration or noise. I rent, so I can't cut into walls or add permanent ventilation. Has anyone here run a HEPA purifier in the same room as a screen enclosure? I'd like to know if it actually cut down on airborne dust and how you placed it relative to the cage.
