Stupid Female Crickets

I came home last night from work and saw Thor hasn’t eaten 2 crickets. I was attempting to remove them when I realized they were laying eggs in the crevasse of the cage. YUCK! Are you kidding me? They were shaking their booties like they were in a party. I noticed some of the female crickets were laying eggs when I put a sponge for hydration in their bin and they thought it was a breeding bed....grrrr  I never thought they would attempt in his cage, especially when it’s a bare floor and no substrate. Just be observant on the females. It seems when they’re desperate to lay their eggs they will lay them anywhere.
Just letting you guys know that they are bastards and to keep an eye on them...lol

I have a prehensile tailed anole cage that has a constant supply of crickets because they lay the eggs there and they hatch. I leave them in there and put some greens and veggies and fruit in for the anole and they eat it too. I dust the "salad" instead of dusting the anole's crickets.

I keep my crickets in a large 20 gallon bin and I've seen the females try to lay in the egg cartons. Somehow I think there are some eggs that are hatching bc I've seen small crickets in the bin. Way too small to be anything except a newborn.

I love insects and I seriously hate crickets..ha :p I would never breed them. I dont care if someone offers me a wad of money I still wouldnt do it. I would breed anyother insect but them. I have a lot of insects in my house for my cham and some for me (lil hobbie of mine as well..teehee) and they are the only bin that STINKKKKKKS..So I would rather clean for several hours then let those lil things hatch.
