First of all, thanks guys for your help and advises. This forum rocks.

Your Chameleon: "Spok" - male Nosy Be Panther, about 10 months. 7 month in my care.

Handling: virtually no handling - he doesn't like it so I respect that

Feeding - crickets every day, 5-10 at ~6pm. Gutload - vegies and Repashi gutload. Sometimes hornworms as a treat, also tried dubias.

Supplements - ReptiCalcium with every feeding. Reptocal with D3 every 2 weeks. Herptivite every 2 weeks.

Watering - DYI artificial rain system (plastic tubing with small holes+pump+bucket+RO water) and humidifier. Water is drained so no standing water in the cage. Watering 3 minutes every 2 hours from 8AM to 8PM. Sometimes misting (during shed especially). Do see him drinking. Urates are white.

Fecal Description - solid, brown. White urates. Consistent with pictures of healthy stool posted on here. Not tested for parasites

History - no medical history. Good eater. Moves around cage, likes exploring.

Cage Info:
Cage Type: custom build 30"x20"x50". Aluminum screen all sides.

Lighting - Dual lamp hood: Reptisun 24" linear + Grow light 6500K. Heat lamp - - 40W regular bulb. Schedule: 8AM-8PM.

Temperature - basking ~86C (checked regularly with infrared thermometer), lowest overnight 65-70.

Humidity - humidity 70. DIY rain system and humidifier. Humidity measured with regular gauge.

Plants - umbrella, ficus and hibiscus

Placement - no direct sunlight, no vents, no fans near. Area realtively low trafic. Cage is placed on 2 feet cabinet. Top of the cage is at 7 feet w/r to floor.

Location - So Cal, Rancho Palos Verdes.

Current Problem - noticed about month ago dark spot on his side. No behavioral changes. After last shed spot looks kinda-not-right. Not sure is it stuck shed or something more serious and need vet attention. Again, no behavioral changes. Please, advise.

Thanks,
Dionisij

My gut reaction is parasite...I could be completely wrong. I really think a vet visit is in order. If you don't want to go for a full on vet visit, check with them and see if they'll do a fecal test on a sample you bring in. Many will.

it could be a fungal skin infection caused by stuck shed over time or something else, i really dont know, i think a vet visit is in order, someone who knows about chameleons, not just "reptiles or exotics"

looks like a thermal burn, but not sure. the fungus idea sounds right too. the vet should be seen right away!

Can fungus be caused by humidifier? I'm using warm mode, humidifier puts out very warm vapor. Should I avoid using it, since rain system provides enougth drinking water and humidity?

Thanks,
Dionisij

Ok, sounds like vet visit is a must. I'll let you know. Can you suggest good vet in SoCal LA area? Thanks for your help.
